September 25-26, 2019: Institute associates participate in VII Conference on Yugoslav-Polish Relations

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Institute of Contemporary History and the Institute of History and International Relations of Casimir the Great University, the 7th Scientific Conference on Yugoslav-Polish Relations in the 20th Century was held in Bydgoszcz, on September 25-26.

September 17, 2019: Protocol on Scientific and Cultural Co-operation with the Serbian National Council signed in Zagreb

On September 17, Director of the Institute for Contemporary History, prof. dr Predrag J. Marković, and President of the Serbian National Council, Boris Milošević, signed the Protocol on Scientific and Cultural Cooperation between the Institute of Contemporary History in Belgrade and the Serbian National Council in Zagreb.

September 12, 2019: Scientific Conference – Comparative studies of the Civil wars

Institute for Contemporary History and Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, Tokyo Japan, are organizing scientific conference ”Comparative Studies of the Civil wars: Yugoslav, Lebanese and Syrian civil wars”.

A book “Ethnic Cleansing: Origins of the Concept” of dr Vladimir Petrović was promoted on August 23 in University Library, Belgrade.

Principal Research Fellow Dr. Nikola Žutić retired August 14, 2019.

July 16, 2019: Institute’s Associate Boris Tomanić gave a lecture at the Petnica Research Station

At the summer camp of history for high school students at the Petnica Research Station the associate of the Institute Boris Tomanić held a two-day lecture and workshops on July 16th and 17th, 2019.

July 1, 2019: Associate of the Institute, Dr. Stanislav Sretenović awarded with the high French decoration

On the 1st of July in the French Embassy in Belgrade, the Principal Research Fellow of the Institute, Dr. Stanislav Sretenović, was awarded the Order of the National Order of Merit, in the rank of the Knight.

July 1, 2019: Prize of Matica Srpska for the history “Ilarion Ruvarac” awarded to the associate of the Institute Dr. Miomir Gatalović

The jury comprised: prof. dr Mira Radojević, prof. Dr. Đorđe Bubalo, prof. Dr Aleksandar Fotić, Dr Dragan Bogetić and Dr Radomir Popović unanimously decided to award the prestigious Prize of the Matica Srpska for the History “Ilarion Ruvarac” for 2018 to Dr Miomir Gatalović.
