September 2, 2021: Promotion of the book "Stara Raška under Italian occupation 1941‒1943" at the National Library in Kraljevo

The two-volume monograph "Stara Raška under Italian occupation 1941-1943" by Dr. Milutin Živković, a research associate at the Institute, was presented in the library in Kraljevo. In addition to the author, reviewers Dr. Kosta Nikolić and Dr. Bojan Dimitrijević also spoke about the book. In his review of this publication, Dr. Dimitrijević emphasized the exceptional importance of the author's engagement in shedding light on this topic, because the area of Stara Raška during the Second World War was absent in previous research. According to Dr. Kosta Nikolić, Živković actually rehabilitated the essence of historical science with this work, because he approached the research in accordance with the postulates of science, without presenting subjective interpretations and views, without choosing a side and without defending any ideology. The conversation about the book was rounded off by the author, with his presentation of the structure and thematic directions of this complex study which presented the circumstances of the three-year Italian occupation of this area, carried out in late August 1941. Numerous gathered audiences had the opportunity to hear very interesting facts about the collaborationist forces of the occupiers, the methodology of the Italians as colonial masters, as well as about various forms of cruel repression of the occupied population.
