January 31, 2019: Opening of ICH Library’s Digital Center and Reading Room

The Institute for Contemporary History Library's Digital Center and Reading Room was officially opened on January 31 by Dr. Vladimir Popović, state secretary of the Serbian Science Ministry, Dr. Marina Soković, assistant minister, and the ICH management. Dr. Vladimir Petrović, who coordinated this project together with Dr. Ljubinka Škodrić and Rade Ristanović, MSc, and presented the Center’s workflow and collections, also introduced the Institute’s digital repository and outlined the potentials for digital historiography and the Center's program. The ICH’s commitment in this field was reaffirmed, as was its participation in cutting-edge projects, such as the democratization of digitalization through ScanTent technology, in cooperation with the Svetozar Marković University Library. The Center and the Reading Room are situated at the ground level of the building at 11 Nikola Pašić Square.
